The academic year 2026-27 opened with one of our proudest school traditions: the Investiture Ceremony, held on 3 July as part of our SLA (Students' Literary Association) elections. On this day, the students of Child Jesus Matriculation School chose the young leaders who will represent them and serve the school community through the year.
Students elected their House Captains for our four houses, Red, Blue, Green and Yellow, along with the School Pupil Leader (SPL), the Assistant School Pupil Leader (ASPL), Prefects and Class Monitors. Our Correspondent Mr. A. Devadoss, School Administrator Mrs. D. Karolin Indira and Principal Mrs. Jayarakkini administered the oath of office to the newly elected leaders and conveyed their wishes, as the captains received their sashes and house flags before the gathered students and teachers.
Taking the pledge, our young leaders promised to carry out their duties with responsibility: setting an example in discipline and conduct, helping teachers in the smooth running of each school day, and being a voice for their classmates.
At CJMS, we believe leadership is learned by living it. Entrusting students with responsibility, and letting their own classmates choose them, teaches accountability, fairness and service. We congratulate all our newly elected leaders and wish them a fruitful year of leading by example, guided as always by our motto: Love, Wisdom and Ethics.
